Funeral services for Billy Don Meek, 60, of Southmayd were held Thursday, July 19 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville with Rev. Larry Kremling officiating.  Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro.
Mr. Meek passed away July 17, 2012 in Sherman.  He was born August 19, 1951 in Gainesville to Bill and Wilma Clinton Meek.
Billy grew up in Gainesville and graduated from Whitesboro High School.  He married Shirley King Young.  He attended Grand Avenue Baptist Country Chapel and was presently music leader at Calvary Baptist in Gainesville.  He was a graduate of Le Tourneau University and taught special education in Sherman, Bells, and currently in Bonham.
Survivors include his wife; children - Jamie and Gina Long of Gainesville; Bon and Gayla Ray of Ft. Worth; Rob and Stacy Alexander of Southmayd; Brian and Amber Young of Whitesboro; and Alan and Amanda Meek of Whitesboro; 15 grandchildren - J.D. and Jacob Long; Britanny, Brooke, Lindsey and Sommer Ray; Kristin, Trey, Nathan and Ashlyn Alexander; Kaity Young and Jordyn Meek; and Bailey and Weston Meek; brother, Mike Meek of Gainesville; four nephews and one niece, including William Meek of Whitesboro.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ronald Meek.
