Funeral services for Al Miller, 82, were held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2012 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel, Whitesboro with Rev. Rick Carney officiating.  Interment followed in Oakwood Cemetery, Whitesboro.
All passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Texas Health Prebysterian Hospital - WNJ in Sherman.  He was born Alfred Clyde Miller on December 16, 1929 in Bulcher, Texas to Delmer F. Miller and Mary Richardson Miller.  He served in the U.S. Army, retiring after 20 years of service.  Al also served as the Chief of Police, City Alderman, Mayor and City Judge for the City of Whitesboro.  He like golf and watching football, especially the Washington Redskins.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Miller, of Whitesboro; four sons, Ronnie Miller and wife, Sandy, of Taneytown, Maryland; Larry Miller and wife, Shirley, of Douglasville, Georgia; Alfred Miller and wife, Lisa, of Abilene; and Gary Miller and wife, Kay, of Hobbs, New Mexico; five step-children, Fred Watson, Jr. of Whitesboro; Sharon Bundage of Long Beach, California; Karen McMillion of Whitesboro; Wendell Bockman of Bonham; and Shirley Speck of Alto, New Mexico; step-sister, Dorothy King of Stanley, New Mexico; six grandchildren, Dawn, Suzanne, Brian, Aaron, Austin and Dylan; six great-granchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ralph Miller; and two sisters, Nellie Flippo and Catherine King.
Pallbearers were Orlan Bagwell, Ken Bagwell, L.V. Phelps, Jackie Crisp, Mark Pike and W.D. Welch.  Honorary pallbearers were Charles Whitecotton and Al's four sons.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Scottish Rite Hospital, 2222 Welborn St., Dallas, Texas 75219. - - - Meador Funeral Home
