McCormick 6 February 1901 - 3 July 1979 Gainesville Daily Register Gainesville, Texas Thursday, July 5, 1979 WHITESBORO -- George Dewey McCormick, 78, died Tuesday in his home here. Services for McCormick were today in the Huff Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Hatcher of North Avenue Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in Whitesboro Cemetery. McCormick was born February 6, 1901 in Dexter to Mr. and Mrs. L. E. McCormick. He married Nancy Abbott on February 8, 1926. He was a farmer and rancher. Survivors are his wife; two daughters Loraine Stone and Lucille Huffines; three brothers, Tim, Tommy and Pat McCormick; two sisters Lina Harrison and Minnie Stockton; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
