Whitesboro

Mary Belle Atnip Arnold went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 26, 2022.  She was born February 3, 1935, daughter of Katie Sanders and J.D. Atnip of Vernon, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Katie Burdine; father, J.D. Atnip; stepfather, Eloy Burdine; husband, Donald Ray Arnold; sister, Tina Ward.
She is survived by sons, Dwane Arnold and Tonya; and Larry Arnold and Paula; grandchildren: Jason Reed; Andra Arnold; Shiloh Davis and husband, Darrin; great-granddaughter, Aurora Lee Davis; brother, Steve Burdine and wife, Diane; sisters, Judy Flowers and June Ho ugh and husband, Billy Mac; brother-in-law, Ben Ward, along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family.
Mary Arnold was the quiet one who tried to stay out of the lime light, but she was also the one who got stuff done; she encouraged others; she listened and then gave you a new way to think of it.  She would let you talk about anyone or  anything - except her 2 sons.  If you ever dared to speak against them, you would see the Mother Bear side of Mary.
Mary was an active member of FBC of Whitesboro for many years.  She served as church secretary and also served in the nursery.  She took soup, cakes, pies and other things to many of the elderly in the church and community.  She loved to read, travel when she could, cook and try new foods, and just enjoy life and family - always staying out of the
spotlight.
Graveside services were held Sunday afternoon, October 30, 2022 at Oakwood Cemetery, Whitesboro, Texas.
