SHERMAN – A Celebration of Life for 89-year-old Mr. Darrell Orr, of Sherman, Texas, will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, located at 1615 S. Travis in Sherman. Pastor G.W. Warren, Sr., will be the Messenger. Burial will follow at Whiterock Community Cemetery. 
Darrell Orr was born October 10, 1923 in Van Alstyne, Texas to the parentage of Kenison and Ella Orr. He received his education from the Van Alstyne Public Schools. Shortly upon completion of his education, Darrell enlisted into the United States Army, where he proudly served his country during the Korean War. After his tour of duty, Darrell moved to Sherman where he met the love of his life, Ms. Fay Chaney, and the two were married.
It was during this time that Darrell began working for, and would retire from, Burlington Industries, after 25 years of service. Shortly after his first retirement, Darrell began working at Albertsons Grocery Store, and retired from there after 16 years of employment. He was a faithful member of the Fellowship Baptist Church, and enjoyed spending time with his wife and family and having his daily coffee while watching television.
On Friday, March 8, 2013, Mr. Darrell Orr entered into eternal life from Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital-WNJ.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Fay Orr; son Edward Orr and daughter Ruby Watkins and husband Fred, all of Sherman; sisters: Janice Mitchell and Helen Davis both of Dallas, Texas; daughter-in-law Myrtle Tate of Sherman; grandchildren: Maurita Clark (Kendric) of Allen, Texas, Marla Perkins (Kenneth), Tasana Smith, Latice Tate, Rhonda Goodman, Debra Barlow and Christopher Hammond, all of Sherman, along with many other relatives and friends.
The Orr Family is under the personal care of the Cravens Funeral Home.
