Trenelle "Nell" Byers, affectionately known as "Granny" to many, passed away at her home in Tom Bean at the age of 79.
Nell was born February 3, 1943 in Sherman, Texas, daughter of Oliver E. and Lula Worley Hughes.  Nell graduated from Sherman High School in 1961.  She married Jerry L. Byers on June 2, 1961, in Tom Bean.
Nell worked as a lighting sales associate for many years at Murray Lighting.  She also worked for Watson Electric, Foxworth-Galbraith Lumber, and Roberts Decorator Supply.
Nell loved many things.  She enjoyed designing lighting for many houses in Sherman and the surrounding area.  Her family and friends will always remember her love for mowing.  She loved her family and never missed an activity her grandchildren participated in.  From football, basketball, softball and baseball games to piano recitals and gymnastic meets, you could alway find Granny in the stands and supporting them with a big smile.  She was her grandchildren's #1 cheerleader!
Nell is survived by her husband, Jerry Byers; 2 sons, Jeff Byers and wife, Danita, of Tom Bean; and James Byers of Tom Bean; 4 grandchildren, Cody Byers and wife, Mindy; Paige Osterman and husband, Dane; Trent Byers; and Ramie Byers; and 2 great-grandchildren, Addy Byers and Norah Osterman.
Nell was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Hilda Franklin.
Graveside services were held Friday morning, August 26 at Whitemound Cemetery in Tom Bean. - - - Waldo Funeral Home
