 Marguerite 'Skip' Bell entered into the eternal arms of her Lord on July 27, 2010. Marguerite was born May 22, 1918 three miles northeast of Gunter, Texas to C. L. (Kern) McConnell and Lura Mae (Elliot) McConnell. Marguerite attended Fort Worth schools until 12 years of age, moved back to the family farm in 1930, and graduated from Gunter High School in May 1935. She married Raymond L. Bell on October 16, 1935. They lived on a farm southeast of Howe, Texas. She moved to Sherman, Texas and was employed at Dillard's Pharmacy and Tate's Art Shoppe. She moved to Holly Lake Ranch, Texas in 1997.
Marguerite had been a member of Howe Baptist Church, then a member of Forest Avenue Baptist Church in Sherman. She has been a member of Oates Drive Baptist Church in Mesquite, Texas since 2006.
Marguerite was an artist. She worked in all mediums, and shared her exceptional talent with many patrons, family, and friends over the years. She passed this love of art to her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond, and a son, Jerry Don Bell. Also, a sister, Johnnie Ruth McConnell, and brother, James Paul McConnell.
Marguerite is survived by her daughter, Sharon Rae Thorson and husband, Al Thorson of Holly Lake Ranch. Grandchildren, Scott Gailey of Dallas, Texas and Michelle Gailey, Ft. Worth, Texas. Also great grandson, Dylan Scott Gailey of Dallas. Sisters, Mary Frances Turner of Forney, Texas, Bonnie Roberts of Mesquite, Texas, Kathryn Brown, of Dallas, Texas and Jean McConnell Reed, and husband Waymon of Sherman, Texas. She is survived by Jennifer Gailey and "adopted granddaughter" Lois August of Fort Worth. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 30, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Whitaker Cemetery near Gunter, TX.
Family night will be held on Thursday, July 29, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Waldo Funeral Home.
