Bells, Texas -- Bobby Frank Crews departed this life on March 22, 2016 at his home in Bells, Texas at the age of 82.  He was born October 11, 1933 the son of Hubert and Betsy Crews.  He married Linda Haliburton January 5, 1960 at the home of Thomas and Lucy Beall in Sherman, Texas. 

Bobby started school at Pink Hill but moved to Bells his second year when the two schools were consolidated.  He graduated from Bells High School in 1951. 

After working at the mill in Sherman for a year, he was drafted into the U.S. Army on May 5, 1953 during the Korean Conflict.  Bobby was stationed in Germany for over a year.  He returned home and continued working at the mill while attending Austin College in Sherman. 

Bobby began working with the REA (GCEC) in 1958, and began working with a line crew at Texas Power & Light Co. in 1960.  He retired from T P & L as a crew foreman in 1992, and enjoyed spending his time on the family farm where he grew up.

Bobby enjoyed the outdoors, hunting fishing, gardening and tending to his cows and driving his tractor.  Bobby was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church in the Pink Hill Community.  He loved his Lord, his family, and his friends.  He especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great granddaughter, Anna Grace.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda, of the home; son, Kendall Crews of Bells and grandson Tyler of Sherman; granddaughters, Lynnsie Lane and husband Burke of Sumner, TX and their daughter Anna Grace, and Leslee Crews of Denison, adopted son Daniel Peterson and his wife Keyia and son Daniel “Crews” Peterson.  He is also survived by daughters-in-law Jenni Messina Jamie Crews Sampson and Stepheny Crews, brother Doyle Crews and his daughter Gayle Larsen and her family.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, son Robert Crews in 2005 and grandson Toby Frank Crews.

Funeral services in honor of Bobby will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Antioch Baptist Church.  Reverends Bill Neal, Jr. and Thomas Beall will officiate.  Burial will follow in Washburn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends and family from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the church.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers are friends and “The Boys” from Texas Power & Light Co.

The family would like to thank the staff of TMC Home Health, Home Hospice of Grayson County and Judy Dumas for their loving care.

Services are under the direction of Mullican-Little Funeral Home in Bells/Savoy, Texas.
