J.R. JORDAN
Funeral services for J.R. Jordan were held at the City Cemetery at 9:30 o'clock Saturday morning, conducted by Dr. J.F. Fender.  The burial service was conducted by the Whitewright Masonic Lodge, of which deceased was a member.
Mr. Jordan died Friday at the Home for Aged Masons, Arlington, of which he had been an inmate for only a few months.  He was born at Vincinnes, Indiana in November 1849.  Upon his removal to Texas he was engaged in farming and carpentering until his infirmities of age made it necessary for him to quit work.  For many years he resided in Whitewright, coming here in 1878, but for more than 10 years had been residing with his daughter, Mrs. Stella Ashely, until he entered the Masonic home.  Mr. Jordan's wife died a number of years ago, and he is survived only by Mrs. Ashley, who resides at Sanger, and 3 grandchildren.  He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Editor's Note:  Texas Death Certificate notes Mr. Jordan's birth as September 11, 1849 and death date as July 15, 1932
