SAMUEL T. BARTLETT
Samuel T. Bartlett, 73, died at 12:30 a.m. Friday at a Sherman hospital, following an illness of two weeks.  He moved to Whitewright several years ago from Bonham, and made his home with his son, Ollie Bartlett.
Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church at 4 p.m. Friday, conducted by the pastor, Rev. G.B. Bradshaw. Interment was in the City Cemetery, under direction of R.R. Waldo.
Mr. Bartlett is survived by two sons, Frank Bartlett of Honey Grove and Ollie Bartlett of Whitewright; two daughters, Mrs. Onie Thornton of Whitewright and Mrs. Dessie Heflin of Petty.  He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Mrs. Oma Bell Thornton
Funeral services for Oma Bell Thornton, wife of A.L. Thornton, will be held this afternoon at 3:30 at the First Baptist Church with the pastor, Rev. E.P. Wootten, in charge.  Burial will be at the City Cemetery.
Mrs. Thornton was born April 14, 1894 in Tennessee.  She came to Texas a number of years ago and has resided in and near Whitewright for the past several years.  She was a member of the Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband; two brothers and one sister.  Ollie Bartley [sic - Bartlett] of Whitewright; Frank Bartley [sic - Bartlett] of Honey Grove and Mrs. Dessie Heflin of Petty.

Editor's Note: Mrs. Thornton's Texas Death Certificate gives her death date as June 20, 1940.
