  Robert J. Stamps 4 April 1863 - 19 November 1947 Martha E. Stamps 13 January 1866 - 23 April 1945 The Whitewright Sun Thursday, November 27, 1947 pg. 5 Funeral services were held for R.J. Stamps, 83, at the O'Neal Funeral Home in Dallas Friday at 10 a.m. with burial in the City Cemetery in Whitewright at 12:30 p.m. He died at his home in Dallas Wednesday. Mr. Stamps was born in Kentucky, April 3, 1863 [sic] and was married there November 7, 1890, to Miss Martha Allen. They came to Texas 42 years ago, first settling at Whitewright, and lived in Bells several years. He was a retired farmer. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. C.C. Lane of Sherman; Mrs. Frank Lamb of O'Donnell; Mrs. Mitchel Chaplinsky of Ringtown, Pennsylvania; and Miss Lillie Stamps of Los Angeles, California; two sons, Curtis Stamps of Dallas and Hubert L. Stamps of Los Angeles; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
