John H. Richey
Funeral services for John H. Richey, 83, were held at the Presbyterian Church at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday conducted by Dr. B. Wrenn Webb and Dr. J.F. Fender.  Interment was in the City Cemetery, with R.R. Waldo in charge of arrangements.  Pallbearers were John Reeves, Clarence Martin, Burnie Richey, Claud Scoggins, Jim Brown and J.T. Vestal.
Mr. Richey died at 8:50 p.m. Monday at his home here, after an illness of only a few days of influenza.  He had been in poor health for several years but was able to be up and to come to town occasionally until he was stricken last week.
He was born August 23, 1851 at Cleveland, Tennessee and was married in 1880 to Miss Jerushia Robbins in Illinois.  They came to Texas in 1882, where Mr. Richey engaged in farming for many years.  Upon his retirement some 20 years ago, the family moved to Whitewright and had since resided here.  He was an elder of the Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Richey is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John Henry, of Whitewright; and a brother, J.D. Richey, of Orangeville.
