MORTUARY
Funeral services for Mrs. Dollie Samantha Painter, 61, wife of the late R.W. Painter were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. J.R. Waldrum and Rev. C. Chumbley.  Interment was in the City Cemetery under direction of Waldo Funeral Home.
Mrs. Painter died at 1:05 a.m. June 23,  1 937 at her home in east Whitewright.  She had been in poor health for some time, and had been critically ill for about ten days.
She was born December 20, 1875 in Rhea County, Tennessee, the daughter of William and Katherine Broyles.  She came to Texas with her parents at the age of six years, and on April 11, 1897 she was married to R.W. Painter at Ector.  They moved to Whitewright from Savoy in 1919, and Mr. Painter died in 1922.  She united with the Baptist Church at an early age.
Mrs. Painter is survived by four daughters, Mrs. W.D. Taylor, Mrs. J.E. Smith, Mrs. Velma Phillips, and Mrs. J.H. Hollingsworth; and five grandchildren, all of Whitewright; two sisters, Mrs. Jack Vincent of Carrolton [sic] and Mrs. Matt Chesser of Carlsbad, New Mexico; two step-sisters, Mrs. Susie Galyon of Denison and Mrs. J.L. Jernigan of Bells.
