Aged Citizen of Ely Community Dies
R.F. Morrow, one of the oldest and most highly respected citizens of the Ely community, east of town, died Sunday at 10:03 p.m.
Mr. Morrow was born in Tennessee on December 5, 1839.  He came to Texas in 1885 and settled east of town .  He was one of the few remaining Confederate veterans.  He enlisted in the Southern army in Tennessee and served the entire war, having been twice wounded.   Deceased was a good citizen and was loved and honored by all who knew him.  He was firm in his convictions and was always found on the right side of all moral questions.
The funeral and burial service was held at the City Cemetery Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Hazelip, assisted by Ref. J.F. Fender. The burial service was in charge of the Masonic fraternity, of which the deceased had been a member for many years.
Mr. Morrow is survived by his aged wife and one daughter, Miss Cora.

Funeral services for Miss Cora Lee Morrow, 80, were held Sunday afternoon at Earnheart Chapel, conducted by Rev. E.E. Miller of Ector, Rev. W.E. Thomas of Van Alstyne and Rev. Fred Waldrop of Whitewright.  Burial was in City Cemetery here.
Pallbearers were C.E. O'Neal, R. A. Gillett, Bobby Joe Harris, Clarence Rhudy, L.J. Penney, and J.H. Hayes.
Miss Morrow died suddenly at 10:10 p.m. Friday at the home of her cousin, Mrs. Lydia Henry, where she had lived for the last two years.
Born August 9, 1876 in Illinois, Miss Morrow was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.F. Morrow.  She came to this community with her parents as a child and had lived here ever since.  She was a member of the Enterprise Baptist Church.
Her only survivors are several cousins.
