  George T. McCurdy 13 July 1889 - 9 January 1952 Maude L. McCurdy 9 October 1891 - 17 August 1972 wed 18 December 1912 The Whitewright Sun Thursday, 24 Jan 1952, Page 1 George T. McCurdy, 60 [62], died at his home here at 12:20 a.m. Saturday after a week's illness. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. J.L. Cooper, paster. Burial in City Cemetery was directed by Glen Earnheart. Pallbearers were Tom Keener, Floyd Taylor, Weldon Logan, L.M. Todd, Vernon Baker and Roy Taylor. Mr. McCurdy was born July 13, 1891, at Pittsburg [Texas], the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerome McCurdy. He was married to Miss Maude Taylor at Whitewright on Dec. 18, 1912. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Alfred McCurdy of Denison, Tommie McCurdy of Dallas, and Rudolph McCurdy of Whitewright; one daughter, Mrs. Raymond King of Sherman; three sisters, Mrs. Leo Maulden of Balmorhea, and Mrs. Leonard Fisher of Philadelphia, Pa.; two brothers, Lester McCurdy and Jewell McCurdy of Philadelphia, Pa.; 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
