Bells, Texas - Services for Gladys McVay, 86, were Monday, January 1, 2006 in Virginia Point United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joan Humphries officiating.  Interment was in Virginia Point Cemetery under the direction of Mullican Little Funeral Home.
Born on June 6, 1919, in Fannin County, Texas to William Harold and Fannie Mae Henley Fleming, she died on December 30, 2005, in an Ardmore nursing home.  She married Raymond McVay Jr. on June 11, 1942, in Denison, Texas.
Gladys was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ardmore.  She taught 3-year-olds in Sunday School and was active in the WMU.  As long as her health permitted, she enjoyed picnicking and fishing on various lakes.  She also enjoyed painting, serving and working for the Baptist Home for Girls in Kingston.  She was a good homemaker and enjoyed doing things for and with her fmaily.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond McVay, Jr, Ardmore; son and wife Ray and Barbara McVay, Arlington, Texas; sister and husband Martha and Dennis Britt, Cherry Mount, Texas; granddaughters, Hannah McVay, Arlington, Katy and Blake McCarny, Euless, Texas.
