OBITUARIES
Services were held Wednesday, April 2, for Montrose Flesher, 84-year-old retired Van Alstyne farmer who died at a Sherman hospital.  Services were held at the United Methodist Church in Van Alstyne with Rev. Gary Kincaid of Irving and Rev. Johnny Irish of the church officiating.
Burial was at Van Alstyne Cemetery, directed by Flesher Funeral Home. Mr. Flesher was born in Mantua, a son of Mr. and Mrs. George A. Flesher, and was married to Viola Shell on July 21, 1920 in Van Alstyne.  He was a lifetime resident of the Van Alstyne area and a U.S. Army veteran of World War I.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where he served as chairman of the administrative board,
secretary-treasurer of the church school and in most capacities of the church.
Surviving are his wife of Van Alstyne; sons, Don Flesher of Van Alstyne and Doyle Flesher of Los Angeles; daughters, Mrs. Evelyn McGuffee of Ft. Worth and Mrs. Joyce Allen of Garland; brothers, Roy Flesher of Denison and Clyde Flesher of Howe; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
