Sister Zephyr Reece Elder was born to the union of Mr. and Mrs. Homer McKinney, Sr. September 13, 1910 in Collin County, Texas.

At an early age, she united with the Church of Christ under the leadership of Brother K. C. Thomas. She served as secretary of the Church for several years.

She was united in matrimony to Mr. S. P. Elder on January 25, 1936. To this union four children were born: two girls and two boys.

She departed this life after several months of illness.

She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Rayfield Tate; three brothers, Mr. Homer McKinney Jr., E.D. McKinney, Raish McKinney. Two sons, Cpl. Robert R. Elder, Earl L. Elder; two daughters, Miss Veareece Elder, Mrs. Rufus C. Boddie; three granddaughters and a host of relatives and friends.
