Loy Lee Coffey passed from this life to his home in Heaven on Nov. 28, 2009 in El Campo.
Loy was born Aug. 16, 1934 in Grayson County to Richard (Dick) and Mattie Lou Reecer Coffey. He graduated from Sherman High School, Sherman in 1954, and also attended Grayson County College in Grayson County. Loy served in the U.S. Army from 1957 -1959, spending most of his time at Ft. Hood.
Loy retired from General Telephone after 40 years of service. His employment with GTE was in Sherman, Garland, Lewisville and Las Colinas.
Loy was ordained as a deacon at Trinity Baptist Church in Sherman in 1962. He also faithfully served as
a deacon at Lakeland Baptist Church, Lewisville for many years, as well as a Sunday School teacher for the youth. He loved the Lord Jesus with all his heart and always served Him faithfully.

Loy married Wanda L. Clark on March 18, 1955 at Fairview Baptist Church, Sherman.
Loy is survived by his wife, Wanda of El Campo; son, Loy C. Coffey, wife, Sharon; grandchildren, Richard, Michael and Rachael Coffey of Navasota. He is also survived by his daughter, Gina Tice, her husband Dan, and grandchildren, Daniel, Heather and Lauren Tice of El Campo. Loy is also survived by his brother, Charles Coffey of Mt. Pleasant, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack Coffey; and sisters, Virginia Sloan and Dixie Sims.
Services for Loy will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1 at Lakeland Baptist Church, Lewisville, with burial at
3 p.m. at Van Alstyne Cemetery in Van Alstyne.
