James Robert Savage loving husband, father and grandfather.

James was born November 30, 1947 in Sherman, Texas to Robert Eugene and Irene Savage. He accepted the lord as his holy savior July 24, 1959 and was a member of Elmont Baptist Church, Elmont Texas. He left to be with the lord March 4, 2023.
James graduated for Gunter High School in 1965 and attended Grayson County College. One year after graduation he went to work for his uncle in air conditioning, heating and plumbing and had continued that occupation ever since. He retired in 2019 where he was manager of Amsco Supply, Denton Store. James was a follower of Nascar and NHRA. His passion was cars and his pride and joy was his Camaro he had since 1968.
On September 6, 1986, he married Debbie Gunter of Gunter. They resided in Gunter, Texas and spent the next 37 years together enjoying life with their kids.
James is survived by his wife Debbie; Son, James (Bubba) Robert Savage Jr. and wife Angela of Gunter, Tx. ; Daughter, Vadra Gene Underwood and husband Eric of Sherman, TX.; Sons Michael Shawn Powell and wife Kelly of Van Alstyne Tx. and Tracy Allan Gilkes of Gunter, Tx.; Grandson, Brock Savage, US Marine; Granddaughter, Bria Savage; Grandson; Griffin Underwood and Grandson Gage Underwood; Sister, Norma White of Howe; Niece and Nephew and many close friends.
Visitation will be Friday, March 10, from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne, Tx. Funeral Service will be Saturday, March 11 at 11:00 am. Grave Side service at Van Alstyne Cemetery, Van Alstyne, Texas.
There will be a Celebration of James’s life following the service at 700 Cypress Point Dr. , Hidden Lakes Addition, Gunter, Texas. Family and friends are invited
