John Robert Hudgins, Jr. was born August 10, 1937, in Longview, Texas passed away October 13, 2022. He joined the marine corp in 1953 to 1956 where he received his GED.
He worked at Sears as an artist illustrator for a few years, went from there to Dallas Transit as a mechanic from 1965-1969. He then went to work as a Garage Employee for Roadway Express in 1969, at Roadway Express he served as Job Stewart for a good many years, worked at Teamsters Local 745 as an Assistant Business Agent. and retired in May 1999.
He moved to Missouri in 1999 where he took a job with the Land and Zoning Commission for the County of Charleston. He served as a commissioner from 2003-2008.
He moved back to Texas in 2015 where he enjoyed his home life with his wife and family by his side.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Madeline Young, his wife Paula Hudgins, his sister Francis Lusardi, his brother, Larry Douthit and daughter Virginia Ann Hudgins.
John was survived by his sister Sheryl and husband Bruce Trojanowski, his daughters, Theresa and husband Alan Lewis, Cindy and her husband Richard Keenan, Elaine Hudgins, Rae Cloutier, Debbie Wimer and son Kenny and his wife Rhonda Kirkpatrick. He had numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Our daddy was a great family man respected and loved by all. He was a sensitive and sincere man, his words and teaching were very valuable to all his children. He will be greatly missed.
Services will be held at 3:00PM Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at Scoggins Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Danny Miller, officiating. Burial will follow at the Van Alstyne Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior of service.
