JARROD PAUL WOODS
May 14, 1979 - March 2, 2021

Jarrod was born May 14, 1979 in DeRidder, La to Rev. Sidney and Gwen Woods and big brother Jonathan. He lived 41 years 9 months and 16 days.
He was the life of any gathering and made life-long friends everywhere he went. A very talented young man artistically and musically. Music was his passion and trumpet was his instrument of choice throughout his school years. He and 4 other boys from the church won the National Fine Arts Competition with their brass ensemble jazz rendition of Amazing Grace in the summer of 1997.
Jarrod graduated from Silsbee Tx High School in 1997, received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education from Southeastern Assemblies of God College in Lakeland, Fl in 2002 where he picked up the keyboard as his favorite instrument. In 2004 he graduated with his Masters in Music from Lee College in Cleveland, Tn.
Jarrod served as Music Minister at Silsbee First Assembly of God from 2003-2013. He also served as Youth Pastor and Associate Pastor at different times during his tenure. He became an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God in 2011.
Jarrod met the love of his life, Savannah Lee Mitchell, in March 2011 and they were married Dec. 31, 2011/Jan.1, 2012 at the stroke of midnight. This duo produced beautiful music together and composed many great songs of praise and worship elevating worship to a higher level. But their greatest creations came in the births of their two children: Charis Ava, born Sept. 3, 2015 and Jaxon Blaze, born Sept. 15, 2019. They were his joy, pride, delight and the twinkle of his eye.
Jarrod left this earthly life for his heavenly home Tuesday March 2, 2021. The saddest day of our lives here but, he is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior never to die again. He will be sorely missed by all who love him.
Jarrod is survived by his wife Savannah, children Charis and Jaxon, his parents Sidney and Gwen, brother Jonathan, wife Amber, nieces Briana and Londyn - in-laws Dawn Mitchell of Jasper and Carl Mitchell of Katy - brothers Carl, Jr, wife Kelsie, nephews Hudson and Walker - Clay, wife Melissa, nephews Knox and Wesley - Clifton, wife Jillian, nephew Nash and niece Rosie - Cody - and Toby - sisters Sierra Martinez, husband Christian, nephew Axel - and Cheyenne Mitchell.
