Van Alstyne, Texas -- Robert Waldon Cameron, Jr. (Bob) went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday,
July 18 at Willis Knighton Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana. Funeral services will be held at Scoggins Funeral Home on Saturday, July 22, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to service.   Burial will be at the Van Alstyne Cemetery.

Robert was born to Robert Waldon Cameron Sr. and Anna Mae Brown Cameron in Swiss, West Virginia.
Bob graduated from John Adams High School in Cleveland Ohio. He served six years in the U.S. Army Reserves where he was a sharpshooter.  Later in his career, he was employed at Kilpatrick Life Insurance
and retired in 2005.

On September 14, 1978, he married the love of his life, Pamela Joyce Lay in Van Alstyne, Texas.
Bob showed interest in Southern Gospel Music at a early age and began singing with his parents as a tenor.  As his voice began to change, he developed a unique bass voice.  Bob sang with many gospel groups over the years, with the latest being Chordsmith which he organized and named.   Bob also loved his family with all his heart and put their needs before his.
Bob Cameron is survived by his wife, Pamela Joyce Cameron of Shreveport Louisiana, daughters Kelsey Neeley Cameron of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Nicole Cameron Harleman of Dayton, Ohio;  grandson Tommy O’Brien of Dayton, Ohio, brother Michael and wife Phyllis Cameron of Boone, North Carolina, sister Jeanie Cameron Vargo and husband Dennis of Cleveland Ohio, father and mother in-law Vestal and Bobbie Lay of Van Alstyne, and sister in law Sherry Reed and husband Darrell of Sherman,   He is also survived by three nephews David, Scott and Ian  Cameron and nieces, Amberly Jones and Riley Marshall and numerous cousins.
Pallbearers are Ralph Green, Ricky Day, Leon Lay, Tony Lay, Darrell Reed, Jeremy Jones and honorary, Nathan Davidson and Todd DuBose.
Services are under the direction of Scoggins Funeral Home & Crematory, 637 W. Van Alstyne Parkway, Van Alstyne, Texas. 903-482-5225
