Van Alstyne - Services for J. L. Anderson Jr., 68-year-old Van Alstyne farmer and rancher will be held at
6 p.m. Wednesday in Flesher Funeral Chapel in Van Alstyne.He died Monday at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.

The Rev. Jimmy Tarrant and the Rev. Mike Miller will officiate with burial in Van Alstyne Cemetery.
Mr. Anderson was born in Van Alstyne, the son of John L. Anderson and Myrtle Blackeby Anderson. He married Geraldine Lane Oct. 19, 1947 in Dallas.
He was a World War II Army veteran and operated a Texaco service station in Van Alstyne for many years.
He was a member of the cannon Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife; daughters, Brenda Anderson and Pamela Boddie, both of Van Alstyne, Linda Wilkins of Austin and Teresa Hartsfield of Anna; sisters, Dollin Anderson of Van Alstyne and Alma Hart
of Rochester, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren. 





Van Alstyne - Our precious mother Frances Geraldine Anderson, 80, of Van Alstyne went home to be
with the Lord on Sunday, February 3, 2006.She fought a hard battle with cancer.Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 7, 2008 at Flesher Funeral Home in Van Alstyne, Texas with Rev. Jim Poole officiating.Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday February 6, 2008.Geraldine was born September 19, 1927, the daughter of Weldon and Grace Land of Sedalia, Texas.She was married October 19, 1947 in Dallas, Texas to J.L. Anderson Jr. of Van Alstyne, Texas.

She shared a life of farming and ranching, while owning and operating The Tiny Tots children's clothing store in downtown Van Alstyne, Texas and worked many years for Texas Instruments in Sherman and Richardson. In her later years, working along with her husband, she owned and operated Anderson's Texaco Service Station of Van Alstyne.She finished her working career at Hurricane Creek Country Club in Anna, Texas.She is survived by her daughters and their spouses: Brenda and Gary Gibb, Pam and Ricky Boddie, Teresa and Bobby Otts, all of Van Alstyne; and Linda and Burt Wilkins of Austin, Texas; brother, Sonny (Carlinda) Lane of Van Alstyne; sisters, Elwanda Webster of Plano and Willadee "Bookie" (Billy Ray) Edwards of Van Alstyne; grandchildren, Geoffrey (Natilie) Gibb of Kennedale, Texas; John (Shanna) Hartsfield of Howe, Texas; Shanda Boddie, Trey Boddie, Jacob (Amy) Boddie and Billy Bob (Ami) Hartsfield, all of Van Alstyne, Texas; and Dana Wilkins of Austin, Texas; and she was blessed with 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, J.L. Anderson Jr., son, Timothy Ray Anderson; along with her parents and sister, Joyce Ashley.The attending pallbearers for the service are Jacob Boddie, Trey Boddie, Billy B ob Hartsfield, John Hartsfield, Geoffrey Gibb, Scott Edwards and Robbie Lane.The family will receive friends at the home of Teresa and Bobby Otts at 1045 Hackberry Rd., Van Alstyne, Texas.
