Howe, Texas -- William Ray Burk of Howe, Texas, was born on December 10, 1951, and died on
December 23, 2015 at Wilson N. Jones Regional Medical Center in Sherman, Texas. Services will be
held at Scoggins Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m.  Visitation will be held an hour prior at 10:00 a.m.  Burial
will follow at Van Alstyne Cemetery.


Pallbearers are Gary Hess, Darrin Savage, Stephen Bidwell, Bobby Stephens, Jared Barton, Josh Barton and Danny Burk.

Ray was a member of the Van Alstyne Saddle Club as a young man.  He graduated from Van Alstyne High School and attended Grayson County Community College. A skilled electrician, Ray worked for Johnson & Johnson and retired after approximately 25 years of dedicated employment. Ray was well loved by his family and friends who will miss his dry sense of humor and down-to-earth nature.

Ray is preceded in death by his father, Judge William Burk and his sister, Norma Gale Burk.

Ray is survived by his mother, Neoma Burk of Van Alstyne; nieces Elisha Bidwell (and husband, Stephen Bidwell) of Austin, Kelly Hess (and husband, Gary Hess) of McKinney, and Amber Savage (and husband, Darrin Savage) of Howe; aunts Wanda Stephens of Van Alstyne, Annette Tolbert, Pam Tolbert, Kim Reagan, Mary Lou Nichols, Flora Ann Fink all of Oklahoma; uncles Lissie, Alan and Charles Hearrell of Oklahoma; and close cousin, Danny Joe Burk.

Services are under the direction of Scoggins Funeral Home & Crematory, 637 W. Van Alstyne, Pkwy.
