Dee Wester Blevins
24 February 1945 - 7 December 2015

Van Alstyne, Texas -- Delores "Dee" Wester Blevins passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by
her family, following a 4-year battle with kidney cancer.  She was 70. Funeral service will be held at
10:00 a.m. Friday, December 11, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church of Howe, 810 N. Denny, Howe. Visitation will be Thursday, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Scoggins Funeral Home, 637 W. Van Alstyne Parkway, Van Alstyne.

Dee was born in 1945 to Cecil and Pauline Wester in Tulsa, Oklahoma; her family moved to Fort Worth when she was a child.  Dee was a manager for the U.S. Postal Service until she retired in 2005 to become a full-time grandmother. A few years later, she moved from Fort Worth to Van Alstyne with her daughter and family, and there she found home - a wonderful group of friends, a devoted companion, and a beloved church family! Dee's passion for the past ten years was caring for her grandsons, Tucker and Zach; she also enjoyed making beautiful quilts.  She was known for her outgoing personality, energetic style, and a smile that could light up a room.

Dee leaves her beloved companion Richard Loftice, daughter Denise Blevins Scott and husband Mike, son Patrick Blevins, granddaughter Amanda Tarvin, and grandsons Tucker and Zach Scott.  She also leaves her brother Cecil Wester, Jr. of Granbury, a niece and nephew, and friends that she considered family.  Dee was preceded in death by her son, Chad Blevins (1993), and her parents.
