Well Known Man Killed
Marvin McKinney, Formerly of Sherman, Automobile Victim in Dallas

Funeral services for L. Marvin McKinney, formerly of Sherman and well known in Grayson county, were to be held in Van Alstyne Monday afternoon.  He died in a Dallas hospital Saturday night of injuries sustained when he was run over by an automobile at Fifth and Fleming streets in Dallas at 9 p.m. Friday.  His home was in Dallas, 2203 Alaska street.
Services were held for Mr. McKinney at noon Monday at a funeral home in Oak Cliff with the Rev. H.E. Anderson officiating.  The body was taken to Van Alstyne for interment, services being held there at the Methodist church at 3 p.m. with the Rev. H.S. Porter, pastor of the church officiating.
Mr. McKinney is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lula McKinney; a son, L.M. McKinney Jr., and two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Dennison and Mrs. Evelyn Howard; his parents, Dr. and Mrs. J.N. McKinney of Collinsville, two brothers, Dr. Turner E. McKinney of Gordonville and Clarence McKinney of Oklahoma, and an uncle, Will Leslie of Sherman.
Mr. McKinney had been away from Sherman about fifteen years. During the approximately 20 years that he lived here he was identified with the laundry business.
