Van Alstyne - Services are pending at Flesher Funeral Home for Mrs. Eva Lena Springfield, 64, who died Tuesday morning in a McKinney hospital.  Burial will be in Van Alstyne cemetery.
Mrs. Springfield was born in Van Alstyne Oct. 6, 1906, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. G.F. Savage.  She was married to Fred Springfield who preceded her in death in 1965.
Survivors are one son, James Springfield of Garland; three sisters, Mrs. Mabel Speck of Wichita Falls; Mrs. Niona Bailey of Dallas; Mrs. Rachel Young of Denison; three brothers, Jim and Christ Savage both
of Dallas and Edgar Savage of Wills Point; two grandchildren.

Fred Groundy Springfield died suddenly of a heart attack in the office of the Grayson-Collin Electric Co-Op last Friday at 4:15.  Funeral services were held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church here, conducted by Rev. G.W. Niederhofer.  Interment was in the Van Alstyne Cemetery, under the direction of Flesher Funeral Home.
Mr. Springfield was born in Ector on March 4, 1901, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Springfield.  He
was employed by the Grayson-Collin Electric Co-op for a number of years, and had previous heart attacks.  He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; one son, James Springfield of Garland; one brother, Lonie Springfield of Dallas; six sisters, Mrs. Jessie Daily of Anna, Mrs. Willie Vineyard of Howe, Mrs. Lottie Fennell of McKinney, Mrs. Dixie Patton of Perryton, Mrs. Ruby Reynolds of Memphis, and Mrs. Mary Lewis of Carthage; and one grandson.
