Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, at the Elmont Baptist Church for Mrs. Maudie Mae Greene, 65, of the Farmington Community on Rt.1, Gunter.
She died at 11:15 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, in a Sherman hospital. Rev. E.G. Gregory, Baptist minister, officiated with burial in the Van Alstyne Cemetery. Flesher Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Greene was born in Texas, Feb. 5, 1907, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. G.C. Overby. She married Lawrence V. Greene, Nov. 5, 1922, in Van Alstyne. She was a member of the Elmont Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of Farmington; one son, Charles L. Greene of Sherman; one daughter, Mrs. Imogene McClure of Dallas; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; three sisters, Mrs. Grace Dobbins of Van Alstyne, Mrs. Thelma Cherry of Howe and Mrs. Ava Evans of Jasper, Ark.; and one brother, Tim Overby of Sherman.
