Services for Thomas Edgar Adams, 68, who died Thursday at a Sherman nursing home, were held Saturday at Flesher Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Jerry Scott, Baptist minister.  Burial was at Van Alstyne Cemetery.
Adams was a Texas native and was a member of the Rosemond Baptist Church.  He married Miss Nellie Combest in Westminster, Aug. 5, 1925.
Surviving are wife; daughter, Mrs. Shirley Belden of Howe; sons, Thomas E. Adams, Jr. of Lawton, Okla., Charles R. Adams of Plano and Norman Adams of Allen; sisters, Mrs. Bessie L. Beasley of Huntington, Conn., Mrs. Eva C. Millican of Grand Prairie and Mrs. Callie Smith of Kansas City, Mo.; brothers, M.T.Adams of Van Alstyne and C.V. Adams, Jr of Kansas City, Mo.; and nine grandchildren.
    


VAN ALSTYNE -- Services for Nellie Mae Adams of Van Alstyne, 74-year-old housewife who died Thursday in Meadow Brook Nursing Home, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Flesher Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Scott Jordan of First Baptist Church will officiate and burial will be in Van Alstyne Cemetery.
Mrs. Adams was born in Texas, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Riley J. Combest, and married T.E. Adams Aug. 5, 1925, in Westminster.  She was a member of Rosamond Baptist Church.
Surviving are her daughter, Shirley Belden of Howe; sons, Thomas Adams of Lawton, Okla., Charles Adams of Plano and Norman Rudolph Adams of Allen; sisters, Cora Lee Coffeey of McKinney and Alma O'Neal of Richardson; brother, Dow Combest of Murphy; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be J.D. Coffey, L.D. Coffey, John Wesley O'Neal, Bob Adams, Charlie Adams and John Adams.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday.
