FINAL RITES FOR MARGIE ADAMS
Was Member of Senior Class, but Illness Forced Her to Quit

Miss Margie Adams, 17-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lon Adams who reside on a farm two miles northwest of Van Alstyne, died at the family home at 5 p.m. Sunday following illness since March.  Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Monday at the Baptist church, here, with Rev. Frank Johnston, pastor, and Rev. Lloyd Mottley, pastor of the Christian church, officiating.  Burial was in the Van Alstyne cemetery with Fox-Fanning directing.
Margie was born January 5, 1922, in Van Alstyne and had made her home in and near this community all her life.
She was a member of the Van Alstyne senior class of this year but was forced to quit school in March due to illness.
Survivors include her parents; four sisters: Pauline Adams, Juanita Adams, Jean Adams and Reba Nell Adams all at home; three brothers: James Adams, John Adams and Jack Adams all at home; and her grandmother, Mrs. J.W. Adams of Van Alstyne.
Pallbearers were: Horace Smith, Haskell Wheeler, L.D. Vineyard, Harold Hammonds, Desmond Billups, and Murdell Kemp.
