Tom Bean, Texas -- Jerry Kaye Lee, 73, of Tom Bean, Texas passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2015 after a battle with cancer. He was born August 20, 1941 in Baraboo, Wisconsin to Kenneth Lee and Edith Loomis Lee. After attending Baraboo High School, Jerry joined the military. He served in the Army until 1964. Upon his return to Baraboo, Jerry married the love of his life, Sharron Ann Rathman, on October 10, 1964 at Saint Johns Lutheran Church in Baraboo, Wisconsin. 

Jerry and Sharron were married for over fifty years. They started their life together in Racine, Wisconsin, and at that time he began his bricklaying career.  Jerry and Sharron were blessed with three children, Richard, Andrea, and Michael. In 1976, he and his family moved to Tom Bean, Texas.  Jerry worked for Oscar Mayer for 21 years while he continued to pursue his bricklaying career.  Jerry was a kind, giving man that never met a stranger; he was friendly to all he met. He was a loving husband, father and friend.

Jerry’s life stood for honesty, integrity and hard work. He worked tirelessly to support his family while giving freely to his community. He had a passion for life and it showed in everything he pursued. These qualities did not go unnoticed; he was honored with the citizen of the year award from the State of Texas three times.

Jerry was loved by many and will be missed deeply by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Sharron, his three children; Richard (Tana) Lee, of Sherman, TX; Andrea (Michael) Salim of Harrison, AR; and Michael Lee of Tom Bean, TX. Grandchildren; Steven (Jessika) Lee, Jeremy (Megan) Lee, Brad (Lisa) Bradshaw, Sean Lee, AshLee Bradshaw, Jacob Lee, Christopher Lee, Haleigh Lane, Katelyn Lee and Zachary Lane.  Great grandchildren; Kaybree Lee, Emma Lee and August Lee, with a new great grandchild, expected in January, of 2016; brothers Ron, Bob, Dick, Hank and John Lee and sisters Gail Dobratz and Linda Liebhaber.

He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Edith Lee and his sister Janice Lee.

A memorial service will be held at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne, Texas on Monday, August 10, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor John Hall officiating.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Steven Lee, Jeremy Lee, Brad Bradshaw, Sean Lee, Jacob Lee, Christopher Lee and Zachary Lane. His friends and family will gather to celebrate his life in the Edwards Community Room inside the First National Bank of Tom Bean beginning at 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Services and Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Scoggins Funeral Home & Crematory, 637 W.
