GUNTER - Billie Gus Wall, 15-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Wall of Gunter, died at her home Wednesday at 10 p.m. following an illness of diphtheria. Funeral services were to be held from the Church of Christ in Gunter Thursday at 3 p.m. with J.P. Sanders, pastor of Walnut Street Church of Christ at Sherman, officiating. Burial was to be in Van Alstyne cemetery, directed by Talley Funeral home of Sherman.
Billie would have been a member of the 1936 graduating class of Gunter high school. During last year she was voted the most popular girl in the junior class of the school.  She was an active member of the junior Woodmen Circle grove here. She was a member of the Church of Christ, having joined when 11 years of age. She had lived in Gunter since childhood.
Surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Wall of Gunter; one half sister, Mrs. W. S. Forbes of Austin; three half brothers, Ed Williamson of Frisco, Lowe Williamson of Howe and Leonard Williamson of Gunter and a number of aunts and uncles. G. W. Wall of Pottsboro, pastor of the Dripping Springs church, is an uncle.
