Van Alstyne, Texas -- Linnie Vee Ashley Walden, 93, passed away on April 2, 2016 at Ashford Hall in Irving, Texas. Linnie was born in Weston, Texas on October 1, 1922 to Mossie and Harlan Ashley. She attended school in Melissa, Texas. She married Tommy R. Walden on April 4, 1942 in McKinney, Texas. She was a homemaker and minister. She was passionate about her love for her family and in sharing her faith.

She is survived by brothers, H.N. Ashley and Jess Ashley; sisters, Cristine Rollins, Mary Murphy and Sue Justice; daughter, Margaret Walden; son, Tommy Walden and his wife Becky; grandchildren, Tim Carter and his wife Genette, Anni Howe, Janella James and her husband Craig, Denise Menard and her husband Keith, Deanna Walden, Daniel Walden and his wife Connie, Amy Walden; great grandchildren Kenneth Carter, Stephanie Carter, Ryan Carter, Aurora Patton, Garison James, Thomason James, Kennon James, Finlay James, Zoey Menard, Tabor Menard, Truitt Menard, Mason Walden, McKynlee Walden, Maitlynn Walden; great great grandchild Ellie Kate Carter and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mossie and Harlan; husband, Tommy; brother Coyte Ashley; sisters Gwen Christian, Hazel Reed and Joyce Brashear.

Funeral services will be held at Scoggins Funeral Home Chapel, in Van Alstyne, Texas, 637 W. Van Alstyne Pkwy. The visitation is from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Scoggins Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Scoggins Funeral Home. Reverend Charles Ashley and Janella James will officiate. The burial will follow at the Van Alstyne Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Scoggins Funeral Home & Crematory.
