BURIED IN VAN ALSTYNE

Services for Vernon Vier of Van Alstyne, for years owner-operator of a cafe in Sherman were held Tuesday in the East Grove Baptist Church.
Vier, who was the son of S. V. and Maude Vier of McKinney, died in a Sherman hospital Sunday. Burial was in the Van Alstyne Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Odalee Vier of Van Alstyne; a daughter, Mrs. Perry Morris of Celina; a son, Billy Vier of Rockwall; and one sister, Babet Agee of Richardson, and seven grandchildren.

A service celebrating the life of Oda Lee Vier will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 30, 2003 at the Preston Community Church in Pottsboro, Texas (6 1/2 miles north of Pottsboro, off Hwy. 120).
Officiating will be her grandson, Judd Vier and her son, Billy Vier. Interment will follow at the Van Alstyne Cemetery.
Mrs. Vier was a member of the East Sherman Baptist Church where she taught in the beginner's Sunday School department for many years. In her later years, she attended the Preston Community Church where her son, Billy, is the pastor.
Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Vernon Vier in 1976, granddaughter, Cynthia Lee Morris, and brother, Billy Bert Carter, Mrs. Vier is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Julie Vier, of Pottsboro and her daughter and son-in-law, Verna Lee and Perry Morris, of Celina. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
The family will be    at Dannel Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 29.
