Van Alstyne - Services for Mary Marie Veazey, 71, of Van Alstyne, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Flesher Funeral Home in Van Alstyne.  She died Tuesday at her home.
The Rev. Jimmy Tarrant, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Van Alstyne, will officiate.  Burial will be in Van Alstyne Cemetery.
Mrs. Veazey was born in Whitewright, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mitchell.  In 1938, she married Robert Veazey.
She was a charter member of the Wilson N. Jones Auxiliary and volunteered 11,050 hours of service as a "Pink Lady" there.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Van Alstyne.
Surviving are her son, David Veazey of Van Alstyne; sister, Frances McCrary of Dallas; and two grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today.

Van Alstyne - Robert Howle Veazey of Van Alstyne, 77-year-old owner and operator of Veazey Hardware Store, died Thursday at Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Flesher Funeral Home Chapel.  The Rev. Scott Jordan of the First Baptist Church and the Rev. J.A. Moody will officiate.  Burial will be in Van Alstyne Cemetery.
Mr. Veazey was born in Texas, a son of Robert Lee Veazey and Florrie Howle Veazey, and married Mary Marie Mitchell on Aug. 4, 1939, in Whitewright.
A long time Van Alstyne resident, he had been a hardware merchant for the past 50 years. He was a 50-year member of the Mantua Masonic Lodge No. 209, a member, teacher and deacon of the First Baptist Church and a member of Van Alstyne Chamber of Commerce.  He was a member of the city council for several years and served in a number of civic organizations.
Surviving are his wife; son, David R. Veazey Sr. of Van Alstyne; brother, Raymond Veazey of Katy; and two grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday and other times at the family residence, 102 Umphress St.
