Services for Jerry Isaiah Valdivia, 52, of Van Alstyne will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Flesher Funeral Home with burial in Van Alstyne Cemetery.  The Rev. Benton Brown and the Rev. Scott Jordan will officiate. 
Mr. Valdivia died Monday in St. Luke's Hospital in Houston.

He was born in New Orleans, La., a son of Mr. and Mrs. Isaiah Valdivia, and was employed by the Gulf Corp.  He was a member of the Garden Oaks Baptist Church in Houston.
A son of missionary parents, Mr. Valdivia spent his first 15 years in Chile.  He graduated from high school in Harlingen and took a business administration degree from A&I University in Kingsville.  During the Korean conflict, he was stationed in Germany.
Surviving are his wife, Marilyn Valdivia; son, Douglas Valdivia of Houston; mother, Mrs. Oline Valdivia of Van Alstyne; and sister, Caroline Hillyer of Fort Worth.

Van Alstyne - Services for the Rev. Isaiah Valdivia, 81, a retired minister of Van Alstyne, who died Thursday at a Sherman hospital will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Flesher Funeral Chapel.  Dr. Tom Brandon, Dr. L.D. Wood and the Rev. Scott Jordan, Baptist ministers will officiate.  Burial will be at Van Alstyne Cemetery.
The Rev. Valdivia was born in Temuco, Chile, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Wensalas Valdivia, and was married to Olene Gregory on Aug. 31, 1931 in Van Alstyne.  Before his retirement, he had served as a minister for 45 years in Chile and in South Texas for the Baptist Home Mission Board.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sherman.
Surviving are his wife; son, Jerry Valdivia of Houston; daughter, Mrs. Caroline Hillyer of Hurst; two brothers and five sisters all of South America; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Van Alstyne - Services for Oline Valdivia, 89-year-old retired music teacher of Van Alstyne who died Friday at Heartland Nursing Home in Bedford, will be held at 3 p.m. today in Flesher Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Abdias Mora will officiate and burial will be in Van Alstyne Cemetery.
Mrs. Valdivia was born in Van Alstyne, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.G. Gregory Sr., and married Isaiah Valdivia on Oct. 31, 1931, in Van Alstyne.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a missionary.
Surviving are her daughter, Caroline Hillyer of Fort Worth; and one grandchild.
