Weldon Sweeney, 84, of 3192 E. Houston St., Paris, Texas died Tuesday, April 16, 1996 at his home.  His son, W. Michael (Mike) Sweeney, 55, of Plano, Texas died Thursday, April 18, 1996at St. Joseph's Hospital in Paris, Texas.
Services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Bright-Holland Funeral Home.  Dr. Sidney Young officiated.  Graveside services followed at 4:00 p.m. in the Van Alstyne Cemetery.
C. Weldon Sweeney was born Dec. 23, 1911 in Van Alstyne, the son of George & Haney Harkins Sweeney.  He married Lorene Spain, May 14, 1933 in Magnolia, Ark.  She preceded him in death on Sept. 2, 1994.
W. Michael (Mike) Sweeney was born Nov. 1, 1940 in Van Alstyne, the son of C. Weldon and Lorene Spain Sweeney.  He was a retired teacher and coach from Lake Highlands Schools.  He was a member of the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society.  He served in the Army during peace-time.
Survivors include one niece, Becky Baugh of Terrell; two nephews, Jeremy and Rusty Baugh of Terrell; aunts &  uncles, Mr. & Mrs. Randolph Hall of Sherman, Mr. & Mrs. James Rogers of Vivian, La.; cousins, Cathy & Theresa Rogers of Dallas, Randy Hall of Houston and Barbara & Mac Davis of Ft. Worth.  He was preceded in death by a brother, James R. (Jim) Sweeney on July 7, 1992.
