Stroud 12 May 1948 - Herald Democrat Thursday January 27, 2005 Page: A10 Charles Robert Stroud Charles Robert Stroud, 70, of Denton died Friday, January 21, 2005 at Denton Regional Medical Center. He was born June 29m 1934 in Van Alstyne to Clarence Fletcher Stroud and Bessie Major Stroud. He graduated from Van Alstyne High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. He married Jane Whitson in Denton on August 14, 1970. He retired from Bell Helicopter as an electric assembler. Visitation was from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, January 23 at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Monday, January 24 at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church with Rev. Steve Plunkett officiating. Burial was at 2 p.m. at Van Alstyne Cemetery in Van Alstyne. He is survived by his wife, Jane Stroud of Denton; sons, Robert Stroud and Clarence Stroud, both of Denton; sister, Naomi Trammel of Texas City; brothers, John Stroud of Van Alstyne, Judge Stroud of Angleton, Garvin Stroud and David Stroud, both of Van Alstyne. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Fort Worth Metro, P.O.Box 9652, Fort Worth, Texas 76147. DeBerry Funeral Directors had charge of arrangements.
