Dorman Streetman
Gunter - Dorman Streetman of Gunter, 67-year-old retired vice president of G.W. Taylor Tank Co., died Monday at Hilltop Haven.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Flesher Funeral Home Chapel in Van Alstyne.  L.D. Byrd
and Allen Luker, church of Christ ministers, will officiate and burial will be in Van Alstyne Cemetery.

Mr. Streetman was born in Gunter, a son of Mr. and Mrs. E.N. Streetman, and married Neva Taylor on
July 10, 1943, in Seattle, Wash.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and had served as president of Texas Manufacturing Co. of Whitesboro, vice president of Roman Wire in Sherman, founder and board member of Sulta Manufacturing Co. in Sulphur Springs and Vibration and Noise Engineering corp. of Dallas.  He had also been associated with CDT Supply Inc. and MMT Corp.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Gunter and a former member of the Gunter
City Council.

Surviving are his wife; son, Michael Leon Streetman of Gunter; sister, Mrs. Robbie Adams of Arlington; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Bailey, Gene Fort, Dan Kent, Dick Mullins, Jimmy Payne and James Wortman.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and other times at the family residence, 100 Pecan St., Gunter.
Memorials may be made to Hilltop Haven, Gunter.




Funeral services for Neva E. Taylor Streetman of Gunter, Texas, who died early on Thursday, September 12, 1996 at her lake home in Colbert, Oklahoma, will be held at the Flesher Funeral Home Chapel in Van Alstyne at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 15, 1996.
The Rev. L.D. Byrd will officiate the ceremony with the funeral to follow at the Van Alstyne Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Jimmy Payne, Dan Kevin, Johnny Bailey, Wayne Kyle, ___ Fort and L.A. Bumpass.
Mrs. Streetman was born in Gunter, the daughter of G.W. Taylor and Lydia Webb Taylor.  She was
married to Dorman L. Streetman on July 10, 1943, in Seattle, Washington while he was serving in the
U.S. Navy.  Her husband preceded her in death on March 21, 1988.

She graduated from Gunter High School, the second of four generations to do so, and went on to attend Austin College and Grayson County College.  She was a member of the Home Demonstration Club, and
a charter member of Wilson N. Jones Hospital Presidents Circle, Leadership Club, and Charitable Foundation.  She had served as an active member of the Wilson N. Jones Hospital Volunteers from 1989 until her passing.  She had volunteered 3,000 hours with the Wilson N. Jones Auxiliary as a "pink lady".

During her life she held employment with the Swedish Hospital in Seattle, as well as at Safeway, J.C. Penney's and Texas Manufacturing Company.
Surviving her are one son, Michael Streetman of Gunter and wife, Marilyn; two grandsons, Marty L. Streetman of Howe and wife Gina, and Tony L. Streetman of Dallas; one great-granddaughter, Jordan Taylor Streetman of Howe; and one brother, Don Webb Taylor of Gunter and wife Marceline, and a sister-in-law Florence Taylor of Sherman.
Visitation was held from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday, September 14, 1996 at Flesher Funeral Home.  Mrs. Streetman has requested that memorials be made to Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman, Hilltop Haven in Gunter, or to a charity of your choice.
