are 11 a.m. Tuesday Morning Chapel CME Church in Van Alstyne for 85
-year-old Van Alstyne resident Arvetta Thresa Stinnett who died Friday
at Wilson N. Jones Hospital. Burial is at Van Alstyne Cemetery. Rev. Deborah Stanberry and Rev. George R. Clark will officiate. Arrangements are under direction of Boyd-Smith-White Mortuary. Mrs. Stinnett was born in Van Alstyne, daughter of Littleton Wilkins and Nova Totton Wilkins. She was a graduate of Van Alstyne public schools and attended Texas College in Tyler. She worked as a cook for a private home before retiring. She married Simon Peter Stinnett III Feb. 1, 1926 in Van Alstyne. She was a member of the morning chapel church. Survivors include husband of Van Alstyne; son, Leo Gaston Stinnett of San Antonio; daughter, Jeannette Murphy of Van Alstyne; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will be at 708 McKinney Circle in Van Alstyne Monday evening.
