VAN ALSTYNE  - Services for Billy Steve Shores, 41-year-old mechanic of Route 2, Sherman who was found shot to death early Monday on the Old Dorchester road, will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Flesher Funeral Chapel in Van Alstyne. The Rev. Cass French of the Pecan Grove Baptist Church will officiate.
Burial will be at the Van Alstyne Cemetery.
Mr. Shores was born in Arkansas, and was married to Ruby Irene Crawford Harvey on Oct. 3, 1975, in Sherman. He was a mechanic for the Texas Highway Department and a member of the Dorchester Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife; daughters, Mrs. Patricia Seale of Cleburne and Billie Jean Shores of Tom Bean; stepdaughters, Cynthia Kay Harvey and Shelia Diane Harvey, both of Sherman; father, Steve Shores of Walton, Ark.; mother, Mary Lovelace of Paris, Ark.; sisters, Mary Lovelace of Paris, Ark., and Lola Rawls of Lake Charles, La.; brothers, Jerry Shores, Albert Shores and Carl Shores, all of Paris, Ark., Johnny Shores of New Blaine, Ark., Jimmy Shores of Denison and Alvin Shores of Paris, Texas; half-brother, Pete Brownfield of Oklahoma; and two grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Cause of death pending the results of the autopsy report.
