Doggett Sr. 1897 - 1975 Inez Taylor Doggett 1899 - 1980 Sherman Democrat Thursday, June 19, 1975 VAN ALSTYNE - Services for Forrest Bailey Doggett Sr., 77, retired Van Alstyne rancher, who died Thursday at a Sherman hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Flesher Funeral Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Jerry Scott and the Rev. J. I. Gregory, Baptist ministers. Burial will be at Van Alstyne Cemetery. A Texas native, he was a son of Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Doggett and married Inez Francis Taylor, Oct. 27, 1918 at Rose Hill. He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher for many years. Surviving are his wife; daughter, Mrs. Bill Hopper of San Antonio; son, Forrest B. Doggett Jr. of Dallas; sisters, Mrs. Ethel Stedham and Mrs. Carrie Cowart, both of Whitewright; brother, Guy Doggett of Duncanville; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
