MRS. MARGARET RICHARDSON DIES

Last Saturday at 6 p.m. death brought surcease from suffering to Mrs. Margaret Jane Richardson at her home on Route 1. She had been ill the past two years and had been in a coma for several months, unaware of the passing of her husband, J.K.Richardson on Nov.6. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev.J.O.Duckworth of Mt. Vernon, a former pastor, assisted by Rev. Ken Britt, pastor of the First Christian Church here. Pallbearers were Grady Jones, Burl Shields, Offie Smith, Stone Marshall, John Douglas, and Jesse Farrington. Interment was in the City Cemetery, under the direction of the Flesher Funeral Home.
Mrs. Richardson lived her entire life in the community in which she was born on April 17, 1880, four miles east of Van Alstyne. She was united in marriage with J.K.Richardson, on Dec. 27, 1899. She had been a member of the Baptist Church since childhood. Until the debilities of age prevented her, she was always ready to minister to the sick, day or night, winter or summer.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs.J.M.Haynes of Rt.1; by one son, Charlie Richardson of Rt.1; by four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; by one sister, Mrs. Susie Clanton of Dallas.
