W. C. “Red” Morris passed away March 18, 2016 at the age of 89 years in the comfort of his home with
his loving wife, Mary by his side. He was born May 11, 1926 in Atoka, Oklahoma, the son of Earl and Edna Morris. Red graduated from Van Alstyne High School and continued to provide for his disabled father, mother and two sisters. He married the love of his life, Mary Johnson from Howe, Texas. He spent his life loving, serving and raising his family with godly values. Red was the manager of Binswanger Glass until he retired to continue building homes and developing land in the Grayson County area.  He enjoyed his grandchildren and was always willing to help others by his using his talents and building skills. He will
be remembered for his work ethic and faithful devotion to his family and friends.

 
He is survived by his wife Mary L. Johnson Morris; two sons: Richard Morris, Dennis and wife; Susan Morris of Sherman, Texas.  He was adored by his grandchildren Matthew and his wife, Lisa Morris of Forsyth, Georgia; Meredith and husband, Jeremy Gardner of Locust Grove, Georgia. His life was blessed with eight great grandchildren: Griffin, Madeline and Emily Morris, Cole and Hannah Yanez, of Forsyth, Georgia; Colten, Casen and Landry Gardner, “who is soon to arrive,” from Locust Grove, Georgia.
 
Red passed from this life and was greeted by his Lord and Savior and many other loved ones that preceded him in death; his parents Earl and Enda, his daughter-in-love, Sue Morris. He lived a full life pleasing to the Lord. He was lovingly known as Red, Dad, Papa and Great Papa. The loss of this temporal earth is but for a season. In the words of Red’s favorite song, “Heaven’s Sounding Sweeter.”
 
Serving as pallbearers will be Matt Morris, Gary Simpson, Gary Center, Alvie Plumlee, Erik Baker and Brooks Robinson.
 
Special thanks to his caregiver Julie Pryor, faithful friend Gary Simpson, Carol Robinson for her delicious meals, and for all the prayers for “Red” and his family during his extended illness.

Services in honor of W. C. “Red” Morris will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at West Sherman Baptist Church, in Sherman, Texas, with Bro. Danny Wood, officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior of service in the Fellowship Hall at the church.
