Mrs. Eugene McKinney

Van Alstyne - A telegram was received by G. T. McDonough Saturday morning telling of the death of
his daughter, Mrs. Eugene McKinney, at her home in Galveston shortly before the telegram was sent.

The body will be received over the Southern Pacific Railroad at 10:30 o'clock Sunday morning and
funeral services will be conducted at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church.  The Reverends Harrison Baker of Munger Place Methodist church, Dallas, and T.H. Browning, local pastor,
will officiate and interment will be in Van Alstyne cemetery.

Pall bearers will be Zac Emerson, Russell Langgord, Earl Jones, Vinson McKinney of Dallas, Conrad Schweighofer, Martin Slaughter, Houston Douglas and Gus Lewallen.

Mrs. McKinney was formerly Miss Ruth McDonough, and before her marriage was connected with the First National Bank here.  Both she and her husband were reared in this community, having lived here
all their lives until their marriage several years ago.  Her death came as a shock to the family, who did
not know she was ill.  A sister, Mrs. Lyla Leggett of Denton, was with her at the end.  She leaves a one-day old daughter, her husband, her parents, two sisters, Mrs. Leggett and Miss Ann McDonough of Van Alstyne, and four brothers, Clyde McDonough, Beaumont; Gordon McDonough, Utah; Terrence McDonough, Lufkin; and Allison McDonough of Van Alstyne.
