Hansel L. McKinney
Services for Hansel L. McKinney, 61, who died Friday morning at a Denison hospital, were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the East Side Church of Christ in Van Alstyne.
Melvin Chappell, minister of the church, officiated with burial in the Van Alstyne Cemetery under the direction of Smith's Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Denison.
Mr. McKinney was born in Van Alstyne, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry McKinney.  He was married to Alberta Tate Oct. 30, 1936 in McKinney.  Mr. McKinney was a member of the East Side Church of Christ.
Survivors include his widow of Denison; sons, H.L. McKinney of Oklahoma City; Andrew McKinney of Fort Worth; Billy McKinney, Jerry McKinney and Clifford McKinney all of Denison; daughters, Georgia L. McKinney of Sherman, Rosa L. McKinney, Mary F. McKinney, Bobbie J. McKinney and Linda McKinney, all of Denison; brother, Lynwood McKinney of Van Alstyne; sister, Mrs. Alma J. Carter of Denison and 10 grandchildren.

Mr. Hansel L. McKinney was born April 14, 1912 in Van Alstyne, Texas, the son of the late Mr. Henry and Mrs. Katie McKinney.
He grew up in this community and attended the public schools and later moving to Denison he completed his education.
After professing a Faith in Christ he was added to the East Side Church of Christ.
He met and was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Miss Alberta Tate October 30, 1935 in McKinney, Texas.
Following an extended illness, Mr. Hansel L. McKinney departed this life, Friday morning, August 17, 1973 at 10:30 a.m. in Denison, Texas.

Five Sons: Mr.H.L.McKinney, Oklahoma; Mr. Andrew McKinney, Fort Worth; Mr. Billy McKinney, Mr. Clifford McKinney, Mr. Jerry McKinney, Denison;
Five Daughters: Miss Georgia L. McKinney, Sherman; Miss Rosa L. McKinney, Miss Mary F. McKinney, Miss Bobbie J. McKinney, Miss Linda McKinney, Denison
