Van Alstyne, Texas -- Pansy Louise Lay was born June 4, 1931 to Homer and Mary Jenkins near Van Alstyne.   Pansy was married to Robert James Gaddy on December 24, 1957 until his death in 1990.  In 1992, Pansy married George Lay, and from this union, gained another daughter and 2 sons. Pansy was a homemaker and caregiver to all the family.  She also enjoyed the time she and George spent working at Lake Texoma as gate keepers.

Pansy was a member of the Elmont Baptist Church. Pansy passed away on Wednesday, December. 9, 2015 at Texoma Healthcare in Sherman  at the age of 84 and is survived by daughter, Shelia Fisher of
Van Alstyne, Linda and Mike Hynds of Van Alstyne; sons, Tommy and Peggy Jeffcoat of Allen, Leon and Becky Lay of Denison, Tony and Janet Lay of Van Alstyne, John and Brenda Gaddy of Savoy; brother, Raye Jenkins and Ollie Lou; sister, Patsy Jay of Van Alstyne; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and a special adopted son, Charles Edward Malinowsky
of Melissa.


Pansy was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Glenn Jenkins. Family visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Scoggins Funeral Home Chapel.  Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 12 at Scoggins Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Jim Poole and interment will follow at Van Alstyne Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Home Hospice of Grayson County or Elmont Baptist Church. Services are under the direction of Scoggins Funeral Home, 637 W. Van Alstyne Parkway, Van Alstyne. 903-482-5225.
