Van Alstyne, Jan. 5 (Special). - P. P. Henderson, cashier of the First National bank of Van Alstyne, died Sunday evening after an illness of several years. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the First Methodist church of Van Alstyne conducted by the Rev. A. A. Kidd, pastor of the First Baptist Church, and the Rev. E. D. Henson, pastor of the First Christian church of Van Alstyne. Burial was in the Van Alstyne cemetery. Active pallbearers were John Umphress, Creed Taylor, J. L. Greening, J. B. Moore, L. A. Cartwright, L. Umphress and W. W. Blassingame.
Mr. Henderson was born Nov. 23, 1875, and his entire life has been spent in the Van Alstyne community. He attended the Van Alstyne schools and entered Southwestern university at Georgetown, graduating in 1897. He returned from college and entered the dry goods business with S. H. Pattie. He then entered the banking business, and has for the last few years been cashier of the First National bank of Van Alstyne. On Sept. 2, 1902, he was married to Mrs. Mary White, who survives him with two daughters, Miss Ruth Henderson of Van Alstyne, Mrs. Charles Seiss of Lake Charles, La., and a stepson, who is an employee of the Perkins Dry Goods company of Dallas.
