Gunter- Services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Valley Church of Christ for Mr. Royal Archie Hanning, 87-year-old retired manufacturing supervisor of Gunter, who died at his residence Sunday.
T. A. Monk and Edgar Lee Doggett will officiate with burial in Van Alstyne Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Flesher Funeral Home.
Born in Dorchester, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William O. Hanning, he married Zilla Lowe May 1, 1925.  Following her death in 1976, he married Ruth Strong Sept. 26, 1981.
Mr. Hanning was a farmer and rancher for many years and managed Double B. Manufacturing in Van Alstyne from 1965 to 1977.  He was active in the Van Alstyne Chamber of Commerce.  He was a member of the Valley Church of Christ, where he was an elder for many years.
Survivors are his wife, Ruth Hanning of Gunter; daughters, Ouida Hazelton of Gunter and Nelda Lair of Sherman; sons, Roy Merle Hanning of Van Alstyne and Bill Mack Hanning of Denison; foster daughter, Gloria Jean Smith of Littleton, Colo.; sister, Mae Lankford of Howe; brother, Homer Hanning of Denison; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
